How to export from Pocket
- Find the export Pocket emailed you when the service shut down. It is a ZIP file, usually called something like pocket.zip.
- If you exported earlier, you may instead have ril_export.html. That works too.
- Drop the file below — no need to unzip it first.
- Create a free account and your library starts importing straight away.
What comes across
- Every saved link
- Tags, exactly as you had them
- Archived vs unread state
- The date you originally saved each item
Questions
I never exported before Pocket shut down. Can I still get my data?
Unfortunately not — Pocket's servers are gone, so there is nothing left to export from. If you have an old ril_export.html on a hard drive somewhere, that still works.
Do I need to unzip the file?
No. Drop the ZIP exactly as Pocket gave it to you and we will read what is inside.
Will it re-download the articles?
Yes. Pocket's export contains links rather than article text, so Someday fetches and cleans each article in the background. Your library is usable immediately and fills in as it goes.
Is there a limit?
A single import handles up to 10,000 articles. If your library is larger, split the file and run it twice — nothing is lost.
